For more than 50 years, the Rh Awards have been in place to support the advancement of knowledge across disciplines at the University of Manitoba. Funds for the Rh Awards come from the royalties of serums and medical formulae invented and perfected at the University of Manitoba.


Dr. Heather Armstrong

Associate Professor, Division of Gastroenterology

Dr. Heather Armstrong conducts groundbreaking research on how diet, environment, and the gut microbiome interact to influence gastrointestinal diseases and immune health. She has an adjunct appointment in the department of internal medicine at the University of Manitoba's Max Rady College of Medicine. Dr. Armstrong conducts groundbreaking research on how diet, environment and the gut microbiome interact to influence gastrointestinal diseases and immune health.

This award recognizes Dr. Armstrong for her research on developing precision nutrition tools to support people with inflammatory bowel disease and other gut-related conditions.
